    This is a well-made garment, a bit boxy - but quite well-sewn.
    I plan to use it on the outdoor, winter archery range. Having a well-made garment that has no extra cloth, flaps, or other things to get in the way of unencumbered movement is important. This fits that bill.

    I wonder how it will survive its first gentle wash - but, on arrival, I am pleased.
    The price of the entire line is about 10% above their true value, but the products are consistent.

    This was nothing more than a hooded thicker long sleeve shirt. So deceiving when it’s listed as heavyweight.

    I really like it. It is much easier to layer over for cold than a typical big hoodie, just as warm, longer in the body and sleeves almost like a Tall size which I love.

    Can be a little awkward getting the collar to lie flat and down without looking weird but is okay, and the hood is very warm for its size/weight (lack of dead space) and also layers very well and easily under an outer garment's hood if you want

    High end comfort and a great hoody for early season or mid season outer wear with a couple shirts under it. And a great late season underneath piece. The arms are a little longer than most Sitka products but they aren’t to bad. and I like that the back of the hoody comes down over your back side to keep the breeze and cold air from blowing up your back. I’m 285 and 5 foot 7 I bought an xxl it fit nice, some of my gear especially outer layering I buy 3x. Most Sitka gear seems to run a size under your normal.

    I wanted to hate Sitka but I find myself wearing this piece constantly. Hiking, hunting, and daily. It is a pretty dang good piece of gear. I ended up in a large, I am 6'2 210lbs, and it fits perfect. The XL was a bit loose which would be great for layering if that is your preference. The hood zips too high for my liking, (or so I thought) but I always end up with it zipped up and covering my cheek in the wind.

    I absolutely love this hoodie! In fact, I just purchased another one in a solid color. I'm a semi-professional wildlife photographer in California and ware this is an outer covering down to about 40°. For colder California temperatures, I just add the vest (also Sika) and That's all I've ever needed for Bay Area temperatures (San Francisco to Monterey).

    Sitka is the best at what they do. Best sweatshirt I own for everyday and cold weather use. Much thinner than I expected yet the heat retention is unparalleled. This sweatshirt mixed with a long sleeve wool undershirt will keep very warm in the negative temperatures of Minnesota. Will be buying much more from Sitka in the future.

    This is not the same material that Sitka is offering in 2021. I order this as the XL I bought directly from Sitka ran big so I order Large. Large wont fit so I am in between sizes. Vendor is charging me for the return and I noticed the fabric is not as slick as the XL that I bought directly from Sitka.

    Love this piece. It’s great as a base layer or wearing when it’s in the mid 40’s or as a regular shirt. Only reason it got 4 stars was because I think Sitka should have made the hood on this one similar to the core lightweight hoody with the built in facemask.

    This is not heavyweight, it’s a light weight hoodie. Good for temps down to 50 degree with another shirt underneath. I love Sitka gear but I was disappointed when I received this thinking it was actually an insulated sweatshirt when it was not.... especially for the price! The hood part is awesome, I just wish the shirt was heavier so I could wear in cooler weather. Again I love Sitka but was very disappointed with this purchase.

    First of all, this is by no means a heavyweight garment. It has less loft than an Under Armour 2.0 top. Knowing that it was marked as a base layer, I was hopeful that it could do double duty as a mid to late Turkey season and early archery season outside top and was disappointed by how poorly it was capable of doing so. Now after venturing into deep water on my first ever Sitka gear purchase ($159 out the door) I I know that Kiui is where I am spending future dollars. Does it accomplish what it’s intended use for? You bet but not what I was hoping for.

    This is my second Sitka Heavyweight Core Hoody. My first is the pre-2019 model, this one is the newer design. The material on this model seems to be a little more slick/spandex-ish on the exterior. The hood/mask seems to be a little smaller, not in the fit, but in the sense of zipping up a little higher in covering up a little more of your face than the previous model. The main improvement, in my opinion, is the zipper on the hood has been placed in the middle, instead of up the right side of the face like the previous model. That was a little awkward on my anchor point, being right handed. Overall material seems to be the same thickness. Like all Sitka Gear, quality is very high, it performs well, and although a little pricey, considering the all season use that I get out of it as both a top and a base, the price works out as not-too- bad for one multi-use product instead of several.

    I use this in early-mid season as a stand-alone top, mid season under my Predator fleece, and in late season as both a base layer under my Fanatic Jacket, and by itself when walking in and climbing. What I like most is the hood, as it completely seals up the normal gap that is there between the collar and whatever head cover that you are wearing. The hood can go over a ball cap in milder weather, or I normally put my Incinerator hat or Fanatic Beanie over mine when the temps are low.

    The vendor was extremely fast in answering my question of whether or not this was a newer 2019 model (it is), and shipping was also very fast. I chose the Open Country pattern like my other one, as it is not made in Elevated II, not available in SubAlpine at the time I ordered, and I've found that Open Country seems to work well in the tree as well as on the ground, as far as my experiences have shown. Overall a great product and I highly recommend. Hope this helps.
